In 2004, Crosland opened a regional development and management office to provide retail, multi-family and land development services to the Florida market. The move into Florida was planned as part of the company's geographic expansion strategy. The initial focus will be on residential land and community development, with three community developments currently underway. The Tampa office was established in 2006 to focus on multi-family development and serves as a satellite office of the Residential division in Charlotte.

Perry Reader oversees Crosland's Florida office located in Orlando. In addition to his principal focus on residential land and community development, Perry seeks opportunities for multi-family and retail development to be executed in conjunction with Crosland's other divisions. A veteran community developer who's been active in Florida real estate since 1975, Reader served as both president of The Celebration Company and vice president/general manager of Walt Disney Imagineering. Under Reader's direction, Celebration became internationally known as a model for successfully incorporating the principles of neo-traditional design and planning. Projects like Celebration and Birkdale Village, one of Crosland's signature mixed-use developments north of Charlotte, are indicative of the quality and types of projects Crosland expects to bring to the state.

Crosland's executive team already has many years of valuable experience in the Florida market. Vice President of Development for Florida Dean Barberee is at the forefront of Crosland's sustainability initiatives as a LEED Accredited Professional. He lead the effort to secure the Florida Green Building Coalition Green Development designation for Longleaf in New Port Richey. Crosland's Chairman and CEO Todd Mansfield oversaw Celebration's inception as executive vice president of Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Development Company until 1997. Other Crosland leaders are also Florida real estate veterans: CFO Ned Long previously served in the same capacity for the Florida Land development Company, while Senior Vice President Ronni Fridman held the same title for Walt Disney Imagineering before joining Crosland in 2001.
